New Computer

I got all the parts to my new computer. :D First computer I put together by myself. It's a P4 2.8 MHz with 512 MB of RDRAM with a 533 front side bus and a Radeon 9700 Pro Video card. All in all, it was pretty easy to put together. Very nice features and software. I can see what my cpu temperature is and how fast the fan is running. Now to put Battlefield 1942 on here and see what the graphics look like. :D I'll try to post a pic later so you all can see it.

Wrestling to Politics

Jesse Ventura isn't the only former wrestler to turn into a politician. A masked wrestler won an assembly seat in Japan. And apparently he won't remove the mask in the political arena. Maybe politics and entertainment are getting too blurred?

Construction Worker

I got to run a backhoe today for a few hours. First time I have ever run anything bigger than a tractor. It was scary fun. I wish I had a picture to show you. The purpose of the backhoe was to build a wall using concrete blocks that weighed 2,000 lbs a piece. We stacked about 30 of them and back filled it. I only ran the backhoe for back filling. It took some getting used to, but once I got the hang of it, I started doing more than one thing at once. There are lots of controls. The arm has ten controls alone. (5 functions that move two ways) And of course since I was outside for more than an hour, I got sunburned. :-/

March Winds & April Snow make May Flowers?

It was snowing earlier today, and it looked as if it might not stop. It was really coming down, and was sticking to the roads. There might be an inch or so, but it stopped and looks as if it will be gone soon. I don't know if winter has made up its mind or not. ??? :)

Baghdad

I happened to catch the news today as they showed the giant statue of Saddam being pulled over by Iraqi civilians and US soldiers. It made me very happy to see the people celebrate the end of Saddam's rule. Just wanted to put up some pictures that are the Associated Press's.

Water Pressure

Well, I wanted to move my tub a little today, before I frame it in completely. I wanted the nozzles to stick out a little farther so that I could put the chrome trim around them. It didn't go so well. I moved the tub, and then proceeded to try and man-handle the pipes and Fffffffffffffttttttttttttt, the compression valve came loose and water was going everywhere. I had to run outside and go beneath the house to turn it off. Then I had to take everything apart and reassemble it. I just wanted to be sure, I didn't cause any other problems during my lapse of sanity. It is very frustrating, but I'm almost done now. Just taking a little break.

TV exposure

I was flipping through the channels (I have already seen this week's Monster Garage) and my brother was on the Science Channel. The particular show is Mastodon in Your Backyard. The show follows the discovery of a mastodon's remains in Hyde Park, New York. My brother drilled the teeth to try and find some DNA. I was really nervous the first time I watched the show. I was afraid he wouldn't be on it, but they finally showed him in last five minutes of the show, but he is there. There was a chance that they wouldn't show him at all. The crew did do an interview with him, but unfortunately that didn't make the final cut.

But this isn't the first time someone from our family was on national television. I was on a WCW episode when they came to Asheville. And after I threw a paper cup at a Kevin Nash aka Diesel, I was promptly asked to leave the arena by the police department. But to my credit, at least I hit him. I would have hated to leave and missed him. Good times. :)

Taxes

Well, it occurred to me today to do my taxes. OK, it occurred before now. I'm done with my federal and now for my state. Why oh why are the state taxes harder than the federal? Well, it is for me any way. Back to the calculator. :)

DVD's and Deleted Scenes

Recently, I have seen a lot of DVD's with Deleted Scenes in the special features section. And I have this thought that they aren't for the public's benefit, but instead to make the director look smart. Most of them are horrible and I wish I hadn't seen them in the first place. It seems obvious that they should be cut, but I imagine that the director cuts these stupid scenes and then when the DVD comes out, the big companies decide to add these as a bonus. This in turn makes it seems like deleting the scenes was a much needed thing and in turn - directors are geniuses...

A Blog... Finally

Well, I finally created a web-log or blog for short. They certainly seem all the rage. I look at this as a way for family and friends to see what I have been up to, without forcing them to read lots of emails. Don't worry, I will still email them and force them to read it. >:)

As for recent events, I jogged two days ago. My legs are still sore. I hadn't jogged in five months and it showed. I pushed myself to go a mile, but was very happy to finish. Tomorrow I plan on putting up sheet rock to finish up the bathroom ceiling. My friend Paul was nice enough to help me out recently with most of it.
